On Tuesday, September 15, ISO 14001:2015 was published, concluding the revision of this environmental management standard. A copy of the standard can be purchased on the ANSI website.
The revised standard introduces a completely new structure as well as some requirements to respond to changes in industry and broader user interests.
ISO 14001:2015 has a stronger focus on environmental performance. It assures that environmental management is better integrated with and aligned to your organization´s strategic objectives and direction.
By placing more emphasis on leadership, ISO 14001:2015 will drive greater involvement in an organization’s environmental management system by top management. This contributes to a better motivation of employees towards the defined goals and objectives.
