BUFFALO GROVE, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–UL DQS Inc. has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Energy to provide Superior Energy Performance (SEP) training. SEP is a new certification program that provides industrial facilities with a roadmap for achieving continual improvement in energy efficiency.
“All of our classes are taught by highly experienced instructors who combine technical content with real-world, practical expertise.”
Individuals who successfully complete the SEP examination can lead their organizations to become an SEP-certified organization. Those organizations benefit from having an actionable and measurable energy management plan that help businesses reduce energy costs, increase energy utilization efficiency, reduce greenhouse emissions, improve energy procurement practices and deployment of energy assets.
“The UL DQS curriculum for SEP training goes beyond the standards and best energy management practices included in ISO 50001 to provide a very thorough review of what’s needed to attain certification,” said Ganesh Rao, president and CEO, UL DQS Inc. “All of our classes are taught by highly experienced instructors who combine technical content with real-world, practical expertise.”
UL DQS has developed several training options to help individuals responsible for energy management system implementation learn how to prepare their facilities for SEP certification.
Available UL DQS courses include:
- System Assessment Standards for conducting energy-efficiency assessments in pumps, process heating, steam and compressed air
- Industrial Measurement and Verification Protocol covering the methodology for verifying energy performance improvement and conformance to ISO 50001
- Certified Practitioners to prepare participants to conduct energy management assessments at their companies and verify conformance to ISO 50001.
